Rice (Oryza sativa) water, a byproduct of rice processing, is increasingly used in cosmetic formulations due to its rich history in beauty care and a wide range of skin benefits. Different varieties of rice, such as white, purple, red, brown, and black, offer unique nutrients and bioactive compounds due to their pigmented bran. These rice-derived ingredients, including phenolic compounds, betaine, squalene, and tricin, are known for their antioxidant, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, whitening, photoprotective, and moisturizing properties.
